FOSTER INFORMATION

Open Your Heart, Open Your Home
At Wonky’s House, every foster home is a lifeline.
Until our facility is complete, we rely entirely on compassionate individuals who open their hearts and homes to pets in need. Each foster family gives one more animal the chance to heal, feel safe, and prepare for the day they are reunited with the person who loves them most.

When you become a foster, you’re not just giving an animal a place to stay — you’re helping rebuild two lives: the pet and the person working toward recovery.
You’re providing comfort, consistency, and love during a time when it’s needed most.

What It Takes to Foster
Fostering with Wonky’s House doesn’t require perfection — it requires compassion. To ensure the best care for our animals and a smooth experience for you, here are the basic requirements:

-
You must be 18 years or older
-
You must own your home or provide a rental agreement confirming pets are allowed
-
You must have a safe and secure environment (fenced yard preferred for dogs)
-
You must have reliable transportation for vet visits or emergencies
-
You must be willing to provide love, time, and care to an animal adjusting to a new environment
-
You must be comfortable communicating with our team and providing occasional updates
-
Most importantly — you must have a loving and compassionate heart

Our team will support you every step of the way with resources, supplies when available, and guidance to make fostering a rewarding and joyful experience.
HOW IT WORKS

2
Get Matched
Once your application is approved, we’ll match you with a dog who fits your lifestyle, energy level, and home environment.
3
Meet Your New House Guest
We’ll arrange an introduction so you can meet your potential foster. If it feels like the right match, you’ll welcome your new friend into your home.
4
Love, Care, and Support
You’ll care for your foster as one of your own. We’ll check in regularly, provide ongoing support, and cover medical costs when applicable.
5
Reunification or Adoption
When the time comes, you’ll help send your foster dog off to their next chapter — either reunited with their recovering owner or placed in a loving forever home. It’s never easy to say goodbye, but the joy of knowing you helped rebuild a life makes it all worth it.
